Jaya Li

Research Associate

Jaya is currently working as a research associate with Theraphage Lab. She manages day-to-day laboratory operations and coordinates multiple ongoing research projects, focusing on the optimization of bacteriophage and anelloviral vectors for novel gene therapy platforms. Jaya has demonstrated a strong track record in experimental design, cross-functional collaboration, and project execution, contributing to the advancement of gene-therapy–based research initiatives. She brings excellent science communication, organizational, and project management skills that support both operational efficiency and scientific innovation. Jaya completed her B.Sc. in Biology and M.Sc. in Pharmacy at the University of Waterloo. Her project focused on the construction and characterization of a miniphagemid-mediated gene therapy platform delivering an anti-angiogenic DNA-encoded virus-like particle with possible applications for cancer therapy.
